IQC Technician

Job Purpose:

To ensure the relevant quality control procedures and measures are completed on both incoming products as well as throughout the manufacturing process. The Technician will be expected to carry-out a variety tasks including inspection, measurement and fit for purpose checks to ensure components can be released to Manufacturing/Engineering with minimal disruption. The Technician will also be expected to work within the manufacturing area supporting parts-cleaning and product assembly as required.

Key tasks/Accountabilities

  • Goods-In inspection (Including measuring of cables, general inspection of engineered parts to defined criteria, minor assembly of parts)
  • PCB inspection to defined instructions
  • Dis-assembly of racking products to allow sub-contracting work to be completed
  • Solvent cleaning of mechanical parts for Engineering/Manufacturing
  • Build/Assembly work within the manufacturing areas

Competency/Requirements:

Essential

  • Ability to work to defined quality procedures and raise issues appropriately
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings
  • Able to demonstrate good hands-on skills and ability to use hand-tools for assembly/dis-assembly of products
  • Has high attention to detail and maintains high-standards while completing repetitive tasks

Desirable:

  • Electro-mechanical assembly experience

Education and training:

  • GCSE’s and preferably educated to HNC/HND level, however suitable knowledge and experience will also be considered

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Previous experience of low volume manufacturing
  • Experience of working to specific timelines
  • Reporting and resolving of issues with Team Leader/Quality

Skills:

  • Good dexterity
  • Understands the health and safety requirements around handling chemicals
