New for this year: Breakout Discussions

We are excited to bring a new session to this year’s event, with Breakout Discussions at the end of the first day of the conference (12th October), at 16:30 BST / 11:30 EDT. Four Zoom breakout rooms will be running in parallel:

  • Breath Biomarkers for Oncology
  • Breath Biomarkers for Respiratory diseases
  • Breath Biomarkers for Infectious diseases
  • Careers in Bioscience

We will be welcoming individuals interested in discussing challenges in breath research, following on from the fascinating presentations and discussions of Day One of the conference.

The Careers in Bioscience discussion is aimed at early career researchers, students and recent graduates. The discussion will cover topics such as the applications of Breath Biopsy technology, how to embark on a career in biomarker science, and a typical day in the life of a biomarker scientist/translational scientist/biochemist/biostatistician.

Spaces for these sessions are limited and you can register for your preferred Discussion Session after you have registered for the main event.Breath Biopsy Conference 2018 - networking

Panel Discussion session

Panel discussion session from BBCon20The Breath Biopsy Conference Panel Discussion has been very popular in past years and we’re looking forward to bringing you another thought-provoking topic. During this session, you’re invited to submit questions to a panel of experts. The theme for this year’s panel to debate will be ‘Standardization in the breath research field: How as a community we could benefit from each other’s data’.

We are excited to welcome Morad Nakhleh from Owlstone Medical and Orna Barash from Nanoscent alongside Billy Boyle, co-founder and CEO at Owlstone Medical, who will be returning as the discussion moderator. More panel members will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Get in touch to submit questions for the panel in advance.

Join our online community

The Breath Biopsy Community is open before, during and after the conference. It’s a place to connect online with other breath researchers, discuss the state of the art in breath and ask questions that others might be able to answer. There’s a General Forum for open discussion as well as a dedicated room for #BBCon21.

Community Icon As with previous Breath Biopsy Conferences, we will be uploading all the successful poster submissions to our Community pages before the event. We would like to encourage everyone to post questions and comments on the #BBCon21 posters for our speakers and to start the discussion. Once again, the poster with the most engagement, as well as the nod from our judges panel, will receive this year’s Poster Prize. All the posters will continue to be available on our Community pages after the event, alongside all the posters presented at previous years’ events.

Making the most of #BBCon21

After the success of last year’s Breath Biopsy Conference, #BBCon21 will be hosted on Zoom Webinar again. A few days before the conference, and on each day of the conference, we will send a personal Zoom link to each registrant. Links are not shareable, so everyone should complete their individual registrations before 11th October 2021.

Before joining the conference, download Zoom on a computer or mobile device. Once you click on the Day 1 or Day 2 link, make sure you select your preferred speaker option to hear the talks. You can submit any questions to the speaker or the panel using the Q&A button. If you have any problems, please let us know by using the Chat function or email us directly.
