Join us online person on 1st and 2nd November 2022 for the fifth annual Breath Biopsy Conference.

We are excited to launch this year’s Breath Biopsy Conference (#BBCon22). Last year’s flagship event saw over 900 registrants from 49 different countries and following on from that success, we will be again be hosting a fully online event this year. This will take place online on the 1st and 2nd November and means that no matter where you are in the world, you can still attend BBCon22.

BBCon21 Stats

We are expecting delegates from across the globe to join us again for talks around cutting- edge breath research and networking opportunities within a community that continues to grow and develop. You can find out more about registration on our dedicated event page.

This year’s conference will be held over twodays, including a wide variety of talks and discussions spread across two main sessions, a dedicated early career researchers’ session, and poster session.

You will find all the talks and discussions from previous years’ Breath Biopsy Conferences are still available to watch on our Resources page.

#BBCon22 major themes

This year’s event will focus on two main areas: the applications of breath analysis and technological advances in breath analysis.

BBCon22 LogoWe already have an exciting cohort of confirmed speakers that will be joining us for the conference. Chris Brightling; from the University of Leicester, Renato Zenobi from ETH Zurich, and Tushar Patel from the Mayo Clinic, will be giving Plenary talks, alongside a handful of other confirmed speakers, who will present across our major themes, including Waqar Ahmed from the University of Manchester, Theo Issitt from the University of York, Frederik Jan Van Schooten from Maastricht University, and Anke Hilse Maitland-van der Zee from Amsterdam University Medical Center. In addition, we are keen to also host speakers from research organisations, and in that vein, Courtney Gyrath will be joining us from Novo Nordisk.

Abstract Submissions are now live

If you would like to be considered to speak in the main session at this year’s Breath Biopsy Conference, please submit an abstract by 1st August.

What other sessions should you expect?

Early Careers

Our early careers sessions give the opportunity for anyone who is within eight years of their award of their PhD or other professional training to give a 10–15-minute presentation on their research. This session was introduced at the Breath Biopsy Conference in 2020 and has remained popular since.

Poster Session

Once again, we will be including a poster session at BBCon22. Posters will be displayed on oiur community pages online, with selected posters also presented alongside short five-minute presentations. After the conference, posters that have been submitted will be added to our Community page, for the wider breath community’s benefit.

Panel Discussions and Ask the Experts

This year’s Panel Discussion will take place on the second day of the Conference, giving you the opportunity to get answers from leaders in the breath research field to those questions you have always wanted to ask. The session will be interactive and happen in real time. We encourage delegates to think of questions during the talks, ready for the discussion.
