We are looking forward to our next webinar in September 2025. Join this online event to learn about LIBRA®, a non-invasive breath test to measure key aspects of liver function

Dr Elizabeth Crone, Head of Business Development (Research Services), will be joined by Dr Edward Jackson, Associate Medical Director, on 9th September for the webinar at 3 – 4pm BST, (4 – 5pm CEST, 10 – 11am EDT, 7 – 8am PDT).

‘Introducing LIBRA®: A non-invasive breath test to measure key aspects of liver function’

What is the LIBRA Liver Function Test?

The LIBRA® Liver Function Test measures the livers ability to take compounds from the blood stream and break them down into more excretable forms, a key function of the liver and especially important for detoxification of potentially harmful compounds. This is a critical aspect of liver function that isn’t assessed by other tests. The test is non-invasive and can be done in a clinic or in the patient’s home – it involves consuming the LIBRA oral solution, then around 15-60 minutes later, providing a breath sample into an easy to use sampler. This is then sent in the post for analysis in a central lab.

What will the webinar cover?

  • What is the LIBRA Liver Function Test, how does it work, and how does it operationally fit into clinical studies
  • Why it is different from other tests of liver function, and how can it be used in clinical studies to better judge the impacts of disease on liver function
  • What do we already know about how liver disease impacts the liver’s ability to detoxify compounds; what has the LIBRA Liver Function Test shown so far?
  • How can the LIBRA Function test be used to support therapeutics trials for liver diseases?

Who is this webinar suitable for?

  • Researchers who use liver tests as part of their current clinical studies, but want to measure a different and critical function of the liver, and/or measure liver function in the patients home
  • Hepatologists who are researching ways to understand and manage liver conditions better, and want an orthogonal method to evaluate liver disease in new ways
  • Therapeutics developers who want to understand if different liver function levels in patients impacts if/how their drugs work, and to understand if their drugs improve the functioning of the liver

Sign up today to join the webinar and participate in the live Q&A after the webinar. If you cannot make it, be sure to still sign up to receive the recording straight to your email.
