Talk Abstract:

Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry (SIFT-MS) is a soft ionisation mass spectrometric technique that offers real-time, targeted measurement of volatile and semi-volatile compounds without the need for chromatographic separation, or the removal of residual water. It is particularly suited to the analysis of diffcult, low mass analytes such as hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and methane.

Speaker Biography:
A Senior Applications Chemist and SIFT-MS Specialist, Mark graduated from the University of Southampton with a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry in 1992, followed by a PhD in electrochemistry. Following this, I worked at TARRC where as Senior Analyst running the gas and liquid chromatography section, I gained many years’ experience in polymer R&D, testing and analysis until becoming head of the Materials Characterisation Unit. He joined Anatune in April 2015 in the role of Applications Chemist where I became Product Specialist for our new range of SIFT-MS products. Now that we’re part of Element Materials Technology, I am extremely excited about continuing to push the boundaries of what this ground-breaking technology is capable of.
