Published on: 4 Aug 2017, under Cancer

SBRI Healthcare have announced a new funding round focused on finding innovative approaches to cancer screening that facilitate earlier and faster diagnosis. Detecting cancer earlier can allow treatment in the initial stages of the disease. This is key for reducing deaths caused by the disease, which affects 1 in 2 people during their lifetimes.

Companies that apply successfully can receive up to £100,000 of funding for phase one (feasibility) and up to £1 million for phase two (development) for solutions that match the needs of the NHS.

SBRI Healthcare is an NHS England initiative led by the Academic Health Science Networks to develop technology solutions for known healthcare challenges.

The key dates are:

  • Deadline for applications: noon, 6th September 2017
  • Assessments: September-November 2017
  • Contracts awarded: Late November 2017
